As a Catholic school, our mission is to educate the whole child—mind, body, and spirit—in a nurturing community where faith and learning are inseparable.
Our Catholic faith, guided by our school mission “Let Your Light Shine,” is at the heart of everything we do. We encourage every child to grow spiritually, morally, and academically, celebrating their unique gifts. We offer a robust Religious Education curriculum, but our purpose goes deeper: to guide students to develop strong character and a clear moral compass rooted in Gospel values.
We actively live out the principles of Catholic Social Teaching, inspiring pupils to care for others, promote justice, and serve both local and global communities. Our school is a welcoming and inclusive place where every child is valued and respected, encouraged to be guided by our vision of “Have Hope and Flourish.”
Through prayer, worship, and compassionate action, we nurture confident, caring, and morally grounded young people. Our ultimate goal is to help every student become a compassionate, responsible, and knowledgeable individual prepared to live a meaningful life and make a positive difference in the world, truly helping their light shine brightly.
Our Parish
St Augustine’s is proud to be part of the Parish of the Divine Saviour. There are two other churches in our parish: Our Lady Mother of the Saviour and St Martin’s.
We have strong links with our church with children attending mass on a weekly basis.
Catholic Social Teaching
At the heart of Catholic social teaching is something both simple and noble: an effort to make the actions and words of Jesus real again today to transform and uplift social life for all people in light of the Gospel.
At St Augustine’s we look to focus on 6 key aspects of Catholic Social Teaching:
Charitable work
In response to Gospel Values and Catholic Social Teaching principles, the pupils of St Augustine’s have demonstrated a real passion for charitable work, eager to support those who are poor or vulnerable.
Recent fundraising projects have supported the NHS Charity Children’s Fund, Halton Foodbank and CAFOD.
The J.A.M (Jesus And Me) club
The J.A.M group help to plan and lead prayer sessions throughout the school year. Their work doesn’t stop there though! They play a key role in raising awareness of those in need and organising fundraising opportunities.
Prayer Leaders
We are proud to appoint Prayer Leaders in every class, as they are integral to our Catholic ethos. These dedicated students play a vital role in nurturing the spiritual life of our school by helping to prepare and lead prayer time. They foster a reverence for prayer, encourage their classmates to reflect on Gospel values, and ensure our faith remains central to daily school life, empowering every child to ‘let their light shine’ through faith and service.
