Computing

Our Computing curriculum provides pupils with a broad foundation in computer science, information technology, and digital literacy through engaging, hands-on learning. In computer science, pupils explore physical computing using Bee Bots, develop understanding of sequencing, loops, and events, and learn how computers follow instructions to solve problems. Through creating media units, they build functional digital skills in word processing, digital art, digital photography, music technology, and audio-visual creation. Pupils also investigate data handling, pictograms, and technology around us, gaining insight into how information and networks shape the digital world.

A strong focus on online safety and digital literacy ensures that children learn to navigate the internet responsibly and safely through engaging activities such as Smartie the Penguin, Jessie and Friends, and Hanni and the Magic Window. Topics include privacy and security, online relationships, media balance, self-image, and online bullying, helping pupils become confident, respectful, and responsible digital citizens.
